A series of 3 weekly gatherings from 7:00-8:30 to explore and practice how we listen beyond the edges of our comfortable circles. It is critical in this day and age that we learn to connect and work across lines of difference, whether the ‘other’ be family, neighbor or fellow citizen.
Developing the capacity to engage in true dialogue with those who hold different views from us takes time. Although we may want a quick fix, truly welcoming diverse opinions with an open heart requires us to examine our own attitudes and sources of judgment.
By engaging in a series of reflective activities we can begin to crack open our appreciation of otherness.
Jeanne Strong is a life-long educator. Her work as a facilitator for the Center for Courage & Renewal brings together many aspects of her personal and professional commitment to create healthy learning environments based on integrity and respect, to promote equity and social justice, to bring together in ‘Circles of Trust’ individuals from many different walks of life who want to make a difference in the world.
